Dunlap Success Center, Career Center Library - First Floor

Spring 2020 Drop-In Advising will be weekly, while the Career Center is open, on Tuesdays from 1:00-3:00PM, Wednesdays from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM and Thursdays from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM in the first floor Career Center Library in the Dunlap Student Success Center.

Unable to come to Drop-In Advising? Make an appointment to meet with a Program Administrator by emailing GarnetandGoldScholar@fsu.edu

The application assists you in planning your engagement activities and helps better ensure that you understand what is expected of you to meet the Garnet and Gold Scholar Society requirements.

Remember that the application is simply a plan. You do not need to have all activities completed in order to begin the Garnet and Gold Scholar Society process.

Please note that acceptance of your application does not guarantee induction into the Garnet & Gold Scholar Society. You are responsible for ensuring that you meet the criteria for each of your engagement areas.

Engagement Areas and Criteria

In order to complete your application you will need to know which of the three areas you would like to participate. Within each area, you will also need to chose how you plan to fulfill the engagement criteria.

The Engagement Area Checklist  is designed to assist in planning your application. Use this checklist to plan to complete the Garnet and Gold Scholar Society program.

Overall Program Advisors

You will need to specify if you would like to participate in the program with or without an Overall Program Advisor within your application. An Overall Program Advisor can assist you in making sure you are meeting criteria and deadlines, and will review your final Synthesis Reflection. Advisors work in various departments on campus. If you choose the participate in the program without an Overall Program Advisor an FSU faculty/staff member chosen for you will evaluate your Synthesis Reflection.

You have three options for choosing an Overall Program Advisor.

  1. You will be able to select three potential advisors from a list within the application.
  2. If you have no preference for an Overall Program Advisor, you may indicate this on the form. An advisor will be chosen for you.
  3. You have the option to participate in the program without an Overall Program Advisor.

A list of Overall Program Advisors can be found here . Please know, you may not be paired with your preferred advisor as they may already be advising their maximum number of students for GGSS. If this is the case, we will do our best to pair you with another compatible advisor.
